This time, twins Maggie and Jennifer Arnold are off to China to see the Terra Cotta Warriors with “Grand,” their daring grandmother. Their best friend, Sam, is also along with his digital camera. And that gets them all into trouble with a gang seeking something deadly.

It looks like it’s going to be an uneventful “educational” trip, exploring the wonderful museum of the Terra Cotta Warriors near Xi’an. Since the tomb of Emperor Qin Shi Huang was discovered in 1973, more than 8,000 warriors—all individually crafted—have been uncovered. In row after row they stand, lined up as if ready for battle.

But Maggie, Jennifer, and Sam have barely arrived before Jennifer is scheming to get much closer to the statues. And then a couple of men in striped shirts from a German tour group run at Sam and try to grab his camera. What photos or video has he unknowingly got that they don’t want anyone to see?

Things get even more complicated when Jennifer becomes invisible in order to stay in the museum after it closes. She discovers a man she’s met before, Brady, a possible CIA agent, down amidst the warriors. And it looks like he’s been shot in the head. Jennifer takes the small, mysterious case which has been left by his body.

Then who should show up but someone else they’ve met before—the Greek millionaire, Skopakos, with a new chauffeur, Pavlos.

What are they all after? And can Jennifer, Maggie, Sam, and Grand trust any of them? Can even Jennifer’s magical ability to vanish save them from a truly deadly confrontation?

In the tradition of the first 2 books, Chaos in China is filled with hijinx and suspense. Jennifer’s magical gift once again gets them out of danger and helps expose the real criminals.
